Scars Are The Evidence Of Healing

Restored Ministries Blog

I know that I don’t bring a lot to the table

Just little pieces of a broken heart

There’s days I wonder if You’ll still be faithful

Hold me together when I fall apart?

Would You remind me now of who You are?

That Your love will never change,

that there’s healing in your name

That You can take broken things,

and make them beautiful

You took my shame

And You walked out of the grave

So Your love can take broken things

and make them beautiful

I’m better off when I begin to remember

How You have met me in my deepest pain

  1. I have never heard that. I like it a lot. All I can say is that my relationship with God is complicated but when I ask him to give me a glimpse of how he sees me I look the same. I make it complicated. A lot has happened the last 5 years or so. I left an abusive marriage. I came out as gay. I left the conservative christian church, I could no longer serve since I was gay. I don’t know what your beliefs are but the last 5 years accepting that I’m still worthy of His love has been hard. Dealing with the past abuse roo just makes it one more struggle.

I have loved God/Jesus since I was about 5. I love him as much today. And I do know he heals us. He meets us in those dark places.

    Thanks again for posting this.

    1. Lynne, I think most of us that come from an abusive background struggle with feeling worthy of being loved, which makes it difficult to believe that God loves us even when we don’t love ourselves sometimes. I’m so glad that God’s love for us never waivers–that he “meets us in the dark places” and that he makes broken things beautiful. Thank you for your beautiful comment. Bless you.

      1. Me too. I’m glad if all else fails at least He is consistent.
