  2. Sadly, “I thought it was part of the furniture” is so common for those who live with abuse. We sometimes get so accustomed to the way we are living and become blind to the fact that we are being abused, not only physically, but emotionally, and become complacent because it’s the norm for so many.

    1. Yes, sad but true. Abuse of any type is horrendous, but emotional abuse is so subtle that most victims don’t have a clue. We’ve acclimated ourselves to it to the point that we don’t even see it anymore, even though everyone else can see it.
